T1-11 is plywood siding with vertical grooves, common on garages, sheds, and budget homes. Rough texture and porous wood mean coverage drops to ~225 sq ft/gal. Use exterior acrylic over a primer; expect to repaint every 5–7 years if exposed.

The grooves drink paint
T1-11's vertical grooves trap brushes and absorb extra paint. Roll the field with a 3/4" nap, then brush the grooves separately. Spray-only application leaves the grooves under-coated.
Caulk before painting
T1-11 expands and contracts; horizontal Z-flashing and any vertical seams need fresh paintable caulk before the topcoat. Skip this step and water gets behind the siding.
