Apartment paint calculator
A typical 1-bedroom apartment is 700 sq ft of floor space, ~1,600 sq ft of paintable wall area. Two-bedroom apartments run 1,000 sq ft floor, ~2,250 sq ft walls. Renters: check your lease — most leases require restoring walls to "rental white" before move-out. Plan for ~$50–80 in paint to repaint a typical 1-bedroom rental.

How much paint for a 1-bedroom apartment
For a standard 700 sq ft 1-bedroom: 4 gallons covers walls in two coats. Skip the ceiling unless it's discolored. Add a quart of trim paint if you're repainting baseboards.
Renter restoration tips
Use the original paint name and store the leftover in your closet — touch-ups are easier than full repaints. Most landlords accept patch-and-paint over full-wall repaints if the patches blend.
